the early morning light reflects off of ornate dessert trays, crammed full of elaborately decorated pastries and baked goods. one tray sits in the center of both big, round party tables occupying the wide open space of the hedge garden.
rose petals, pansies, daisies, and all kinds of edible flowers adorn many of the small cakes and cookies. some rose petals are even strewn about the tables in between place settings. in addition to desserts, there are big bowls of summer salads with accompanying bowls of poppyseed dressing, small sandwiches, and trays of raw vegetables.
beyond the entryway decorated with a dripping wisteria arch, young girls' laughter echoes loosely through the garden halls. as you heart begins to race, you believe you start to smell something burning...
